SQU Student Bags Award at Regional Contest

Hanaa Al Sulaimani, a PhD student in MEOR research project has won the first place in the graduate division of the student paper contest on the sidelines of the 2nd Saudi Meeting on Oil & Natural Gas Exploration (OGEP 2010) held at Kind Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dahran, Saudi Arabia from December 18 to 20.


Rayah Rashid Al Hattali, master’s student from the Department of Petroleum & Chemical Engineering of the College of Engineering at SQU working on MEOR research project, has won third place in the global level student paper contest organized the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in San Antonio,Texas, United States of America on 8 October 2012. Rayah won the third place internationally in masters division after passing the regional and sub regional stages. Rayah’s paper was based on her master thesis in petroleum engineering titled “Experimental investigation of enhancing oil recovery in fractured carbonate rocks using date molasses as renewable feed substrate.
